If You Believe by amipal If You Believe by amipal
It occurred to me that though I couldn't shoot the entire disc of the Moon the other night with the equipment I had, I could do a stitch of a couple of images in order to get close to it. So here it is - two shots merged with GIMP.

Shot using an Olympus EPL1 camera, connected to Helios 150mm reflector scope via a Kiwi t-mount adaptor.

You are most welcome, What type of lens did you capture the image with?

No lens - it was using a T-ring mount adaptor to connect the EPL1 to the Helios telescope.

So this is actually a 'patchwork'? Wow! And look at those details - the crators are so very visible!

Getting the Moon while it is waxing or waning is the best time to get the contrast as shadows are cast over the landscape. Only two images went into this - in future I may see if I can get closer and create an image with even more detail in it! :)

Thanks *bobswin! Luckily there wasn't much movement, so it was very easy to get the images to line up.

Thanks for the :+fav: and comment ~CiacoAgain! You should be able to achieve the same with the EPM1 as the EPL1, as long as you have an adaptor to mount the camera to the telescope (usually a T-mount adaptor, ~10 from eBay).
